The final days..
All last week was preparation to head to Conrad for Greta's wedding. I am so glad that is over! I was more stressed at her wedding than I was at my own! However, the ceremony was beautiful and I got to hang out with my favorite nephew Kyron. He even learned my name - all three syllables. I will post some pictures when I get some.
Camp is in its last full week - Can you hear the workers rejoicing in the background? It has been a good summer, but after 10 weeks we are all ready for some quiet time. So, this weekend I am looking forward to taking my best buddy Rachel to her very first Rodeo! Not really quiet time, but a good time is guaranteed!
I can think back a few years and laugh that I never would have revealed my excitement for such an event. I wouldn't want to be considered a hick. Now, I'm a little older and realize that it is quite freeing to be able to just be who I am and not have to find my identity by what I wear, listen to, or do for my job. I can embrace the Jesica who isn't afraid to enjoy a good Nascar race, see the rodeo, or listen to a little country music on the radio. That doesn't negate that I like to be a little funky, a little punk, a little "granola" all at the same time. More than that, I am Jesica , not a carbon copy girl, or someone who has to fit into someone else's mold, just the girl God created me to be - however strange that may be! I think I am starting to like myself. So my words of wisdom, be who you are - not who you think you should be!
